Acer Iconia Tab A100 with Android 3.2

Acer's has officially announced availability of the Acer A100 beginning in October. As a brief refresher of the A100's specifications, this is a 7 inch device powered by a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2, a 1024 X 600 display, and claiming 1080p output from its mini-HDMI connector. Potential customers may be most excited about the device coming pre-loaded with Android Honeycomb 3.2
The Acer Iconia A100 represents a few firsts. It will be the first 7 inch tablet running Honeycomb out of the box from a major manufacturer to reach retail shelves. It will be part of the first wave of tablets to be in general consumer use running an official build of Android 3.2. To-date, only the Motorola Xoom and Asus Eee Pad Transformer have received official updates to the latest mobile OS version from Google.
For those who are poised to grab one of these, the two intervening months will hopefully give Acer time to work out any remaining kinks. The Acer Iconia Tab A500 also claims to do HDMI output at 1080p. In my own tests, however, the A500 was able to output from the HDMI connector at only 720p with Android 3.1.
The full press release from Acer is included below.
